kiwi-updater: Apps From Git Catalogs on Silverblue and Bluefin
Meet kiwi-updater — install and update open-source apps straight from git catalogs on immutable Fedora desktops. No accounts, no store, no vendor.
Welcome to derlocke.net
Hey there! I'm derlocke: Linux tinkerer, sysadmin and the person behind the Kiwi tools. These days most of my time goes into making Fedora Silverblue and Bluefin desktops easier to set up, keep updated and lock down, with small, open-source tools that need no accounts and no app store.
What you'll find here
- 🥝 The Kiwi ecosystem: kiwi-updater, its app catalog and the apps in it. Release notes, design notes and the occasional post-mortem.
- 🐧 Linux desktop: immutable systems (Silverblue, Bluefin), GNOME, shell tooling
- 🔐 Privacy & networking: VPNs, kill switches, firewalls, self-hosting
- 📝 Personal: thoughts and the occasional rant
Everything I build is on GitHub. Have a look at the projects, and don't hesitate to reach out.
